To be honest it is really difficult to say if this course helped me progress or not. But there is something I know 100% - the art of speaking and showing is probably one of the most important things we've ever learned, and it's the key to the future, because if we can sell ourselves, we'll be successful. These classes helped me overcome the stress of speaking publicly in another language. College-level English emphasizes this form of activity, which I am very grateful for, as it is my main weakness.
But let's back to first exercise we did was fill in the blanks, a very simple but very effective exercise. Filling in the blanks can help you focus and stimulate your brain so it's always ready. The next one is to describe object situational things and processes. It is very important for future engineers to know how to describe all the things I mentioned earlier in technical language. Thanks to the special vocabulary my teacher always prepares for me, my dictionary has become more and more formal. This vocabulary has also made me sound more proficient and more confident in my abilities. The third is the art of presentation. In our course, we learned how to prepare a good presentation, what to include, we discussed the main mistakes and learned skills for a successful presentation. In addition to that, we did a little grammar review, which is good because if we don't repeat it, we can easily forget what we've learned.
In conclusion, this course has shown me the tools and encouraged me to learn English. I hope that in the future, the skills I have acquired will be useful to me on my professional path.
